After studying medicine, Dr. Michaela Fuchs worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Mainz.
On the basis of research results in weightlessness, she wrote a doctorate thesis on the function of the balance organ, which was awarded the best grade “summa cum laude” and in 1990 received the Tancre Prize of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz for the best doctorate of the year 1989.
She completed her specialist training as an ENT doctor at the Westpfalz-Klinikum in Kaiserslautern. In 1993, her private practice was established in Kirchheimbolanden. While studying, Dr. Michaela Fuchs was already working in foreign countries to help the ones in need. She still works abroad for the association Cargo Human Care e.V. as a doctor in Africa.
